Terrorism, as a complex and evolving phenomenon, poses significant challenges to international peace and security. The research investigates how international criminal law addresses terrorism and examines the effectiveness of various legal instruments and institutions in combating this threat.

The study begins with an overview of the international legal definitions of terrorism and the principles underlying international criminal law. It discusses the evolution of legal frameworks designed to address terrorism, including key international conventions and treaties such as the International Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism, the Convention on Offences and Certain Other Acts Committed on the High Seas, and the United Nations Security Council resolutions aimed at counter-terrorism.

Central to the analysis is the role of international criminal tribunals and courts in the fight against terrorism. The research evaluates the jurisdiction and effectiveness of institutions such as the International Criminal Court (ICC) and ad hoc tribunals in prosecuting terrorism-related offenses.
