ABSTRACT
This study assesses employee engagement and its impact on realizing an organization’s vision, with a focus on Eneo Buea, Cameroon. Employee engagement is critical for achieving organizational goals, driving performance, and fostering a positive work environment. The research aims to evaluate the level of employee engagement at Eneo Buea and its effectiveness in supporting the company’s vision and strategic objectives.
A mixed-method approach was employed, utilizing both quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews. Surveys were distributed to Eneo Buea employees to measure their engagement levels, job satisfaction, and alignment with the company’s vision. Qualitative interviews were conducted with management and HR personnel to understand strategies used to foster engagement and identify any challenges faced. The study also reviewed relevant literature on employee engagement and its role in organizational success to provide a theoretical framework.
The findings reveal that employee engagement at Eneo Buea is moderately high, with employees showing a strong commitment to the company’s vision and goals. Key factors contributing to engagement include clear communication of organizational objectives, opportunities for professional development, and recognition of employee contributions. However, challenges such as limited career advancement opportunities and inconsistent feedback mechanisms were identified. Some employees expressed a need for more regular updates on company performance and how their roles contribute to achieving the organizational vision.
The study concludes that while Eneo Buea has successfully engaged its employees to support its vision, addressing the identified challenges is crucial for further improvement. Recommendations include enhancing career development programs, implementing more effective feedback systems, and increasing transparency about organizational performance. By addressing these areas, Eneo Buea can further enhance employee engagement, leading to improved organizational performance and a stronger alignment with its vision.
