ABSTRACT

This study assesses the practices, challenges, and prospects associated with the implementation of organizational change at Eneo Buea, Cameroon. Organizational change is essential for adapting to market demands and improving performance. This research aims to evaluate how Eneo Buea manages change, identify the challenges faced, and explore the prospects for successful change implementation.

A mixed-method approach was utilized, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews. Surveys were administered to employees and management to gauge their perceptions of the change processes, including the effectiveness of change strategies, communication, and employee involvement. Interviews with key stakeholders provided deeper insights into the specific challenges encountered and the strategies employed to overcome them. Relevant literature on organizational change management was reviewed to provide a theoretical foundation for the study.

The findings reveal that Eneo Buea employs various practices to manage organizational change, including structured planning, stakeholder engagement, and communication strategies. However, several challenges were identified, such as resistance to change, inadequate communication, and limited employee involvement in the change process. Resistance from employees, due to fear of job loss and unclear change objectives, was a significant barrier. Despite these challenges, there are positive prospects for change, including increased management commitment and ongoing efforts to improve communication and training.

The study concludes that while Eneo Buea has made progress in implementing organizational change, addressing the identified challenges is crucial for achieving successful outcomes. Recommendations include enhancing communication strategies, involving employees more deeply in the change process, and providing additional training and support. By addressing these areas, Eneo Buea can improve its change management practices and better position itself for future success.
