Motivation in taking the Programme

1. Personal motivation;

I am genuinely passionate about agriculture and have a desire to contribute to the sector’s development and sustainability. I see this programme as a way to deepen my knowledge and understanding of Agricultural economics and Agribusiness, enabling me to make a positive impact in my field.

Furthermore, pursuing a Master’s degree can open up new Career Opportunities and increase earning potential since my skills and knowledge must have been enhanced, therefore more competitive in the job market. My aspiration is to work in roles like agricultural consultant, market analyst or Agribusiness manager.

2. Family Motivation;

By pursuing this degree, I trust to secure a stable and well-paying job to provide financial support for my family.

Also, by pursuing this higher education, I will serve as a role model for my family members, especially my younger siblings. My educational achievements can inspire and encourage others within the family to pursue their own educational goals and aspiration.

3. Extended Society;

This is for the society at large, what I have seen so far which Agriculture can solve, firstly Rural Development and Poverty. Agriculture is a key sector in many rural areas, and its development can contribute to poverty alleviation and economic growth. By specializing in Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness, I seek to understand the economic dynamics of rural communities, identify opportunities for sustainable agricultural development, and implement strategies that improve livelihoods, create jobs and enhance the overall well-being of rural populations.

To add, Agricultural economics and Agribusiness are closely linked to technological advancements and innovation in the Agricultural sector. I am therefore motivated to pursue a Master’s degree to understand the economic implications of emerging technologies, such as precision agriculture, remote sensing, and block chain, and their potential to improve productivity, efficiency, and sustainability in agriculture. They can contribute to the adoption and dissemination of innovative practices that benefit farmers, agribusinesses, and society at large.

EXPECTATIONS AFTER COMPLETION OF THE PROGRAMME

1. Personal expectation

-Research Analytical Abilities, as a master’s program often involves detailed research projects, thesis writing and data analysis. Therefore I am certain to enhance my research and analytical skills, including the ability to conduct economic analysis, interpret data, and develop evidence-based solutions to agricultural and agribusiness challenges.

-I am equally interested in pursuing an Academic or research career, this master’s degree can serve as a stepping stone for further studies, such as my Ph.D. program.

– Finally Networking Opportunities, I will have the opportunity t build a professional network and establish connections with professionals’ network and establish connections with professors, fellow students, industry professionals, and alumni. These connections can provide valuable resources, job opportunities, and mentorship as I progress in my career.
