ABSTRACT

This study analyzes the internal supply chain performance of MTN Cameroon, with a focus on the MTN Limbe branch. Efficient supply chain management is crucial for the smooth operation of telecommunications companies, directly impacting service delivery and customer satisfaction. The research aims to evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) of MTN’s internal supply chain processes, identify challenges, and propose strategies for improvement.

A mixed-method research design was employed, incorporating both qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys. Data was collected from supply chain managers and staff at MTN Limbe. The study examined factors such as inventory management, procurement efficiency, logistics, and technology use. The research also reviewed relevant literature on supply chain management best practices and performance analysis in the telecommunications industry.

The findings show that MTN Limbe’s internal supply chain faces several performance challenges. Key issues include delays in procurement, inadequate inventory management, and inefficiencies in logistics coordination. Despite these challenges, the study found that the use of modern technology has positively impacted some areas of the supply chain, particularly in tracking and data management. However, the overall supply chain performance still requires significant improvements in terms of speed and cost efficiency.

The study concludes that enhancing internal supply chain performance at MTN Limbe is essential for maintaining competitive service delivery. Recommendations include adopting more robust inventory management systems, improving procurement processes, and optimizing logistics operations. Additionally, training staff in supply chain best practices and leveraging advanced technologies can further enhance performance. By addressing these issues, MTN Limbe can improve its supply chain efficiency, reduce operational costs, and ultimately enhance customer satisfaction.
