ABSTRACT

I completed my internship at CRTV Radio Buea, which lasted from August 16th to September 16th, 2020. This report contains a detailed account of my internship. The purpose of this internship is to allow me to apply what I’ve learned in class in a practical setting, which will improve my studies and help me stand out in society. The main goal of this internship was to learn how to communicate and to develop solid writing abilities, which was eventually accomplished, as well as other benefits.. During my internship, I faced numerous problems that caused my report to be delayed; yet, there were feasible solutions that enabled everything to be successful; the advice is based on appreciation and what the organization should follow, which I believe was lacking. Finally, I have my appendices, which comprise my written studies as well as photographs of myself, other interns, and our Editor with other members of our team.

CHAPTER ONE

1.1 Introduction

An internship can be defined as any official or formal program that offers beginners in a profession with practical experience. The integration of classroom knowledge and abilities obtained in professional contexts is an important part of internship. Internships provide a multitude of benefits to students both while pursuing a degree and after graduation when choosing a career path.

Internship is not placed on journalism students and other students unnecessarily, but rather because it is an integral part of the practical session, which leads to a better grasp of one’s field studies.

As a journalism student, internship is required for a variety of reasons. This will be discussed more in the next paragraphs.

To begin, as a journalism student, I would recommend an internship to allow me to put my studies and career exploration into practice. This is merely to assist me in applying what I’ve learned in the classroom to real-world situations. Learning on its own is one thing; transferring what has been learned in the classroom, as well as all skills, into the workplace and applying them is quite another. Internship is therefore implemented on me as a journalism student to enable me to carry out what the lecturers thought me in the classroom to various institutions of my field of studies and help me to determine how far i have gone and how fit i am to face the society.

Also, to assist me in gaining experience and knowledge with my field. Internship is advised for me because it will provide me with additional experience in my field (JMC). It will offer me an advantage over other candidates when applying for jobs, as well as prepare me for what to expect in the sector and boost my work confidence.

In addition, an internship is recommended for me because it will help me network. Internship experience will benefit me in the workplace and will also aid in the development of my professional network. This finally entails the fact that I will have the opportunity to meet people who are experts in my field and maybe gain further knowledge from them, which will help me stand out from those who lack experience. On the move. As a result, networking is essential if you want to secure a job. As a result of networking, I will be able to meet with other interns who share my interests.

Another motivation is to maintain a high level of expertise. It might give me the soft skills I’ll need in the workplace and in a leadership position. In addition, an internship is being developed to assist me in developing confidence. Throughout my internship, I will be assigned to numerous reports, which will eventually need me to meet more people, and meeting people on a regular basis will help me acquire confidence, as the phrase goes, “practice makes perfect.” Overall, it is intended to increase my self-assurance, allowing me to develop as a worker and a person.

As a journalism student, an internship is also recommended to assist me obtain professional input, while instructors and lecturers prepare me for the theoretical side of my area as well as hands-on projects. Internship will provide to me the opportunities for receiving feed from someone who works in my desired field on a daily basis which is my duty to communicate as a communicator (journalist).

Furthermore, to help me figure out what i like and do not like. While everyone probably wants to walk away from an internship feeling excited and passionate about their experience, there is always a silver lining to find if i didn’t enjoy my profession. My internship can help prevent me from accepting an ill-fitting job when i graduate.

Finally, to help increase my communication skills. Internship is implemented to help build up my communication skill and be able to communicate well with people, and also to know at the end how to set rightful questions and carryout a successful interview.
