Abstract
This study assesses the impact of change management on organizational success, focusing on COGENIE in Buea, Cameroon. Change management involves guiding an organization through transitions, including adopting new strategies, processes, or technologies. Effective change management is crucial for maintaining organizational success, as it minimizes disruptions, enhances productivity, and promotes adaptability. Poorly managed change can lead to confusion, decreased employee morale, and a decline in performance.
Using a case study approach, the research gathers data from COGENIE Buea through employee surveys, management interviews, and performance reports. It evaluates how COGENIE has implemented change management practices in areas such as restructuring, technology adoption, and policy changes. The study focuses on the effectiveness of communication, leadership involvement, and employee engagement in determining the success of these changes.
Findings reveal that well-structured change management practices at COGENIE have a positive impact on organizational success. Effective communication throughout the change process keeps employees informed and reduces resistance. Leadership involvement plays a critical role in guiding the organization through transitions and maintaining a clear vision. Employee engagement in the process enhances commitment and helps smooth the implementation of new initiatives. However, the study also finds that insufficient training and lack of support during certain changes led to temporary declines in performance.
In conclusion, the success of organizational changes at COGENIE Buea is largely dependent on the quality of its change management strategies. Effective change management, characterized by strong leadership, clear communication, and active employee participation, leads to better organizational outcomes. The study recommends improving training programs, fostering open dialogue, and involving employees in the decision-making process to further enhance the success of future changes.
