Abstract

This study investigates the impact of communication on employees’ performance at Njieforbi Bakery in Buea, Cameroon. Effective communication is critical to organizational success, influencing employees’ efficiency, motivation, and overall performance. The research focuses on how various communication methods, including verbal, written, and digital communication, affect employees’ ability to meet organizational goals at Njieforbi Bakery.

The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative data from employee performance records with qualitative insights from interviews with staff and management. Key performance indicators such as task completion, error rates, and employee engagement are analyzed in relation to communication practices within the organization.

Findings indicate that clear and consistent communication significantly enhances employee performance at Njieforbi Bakery. Effective communication fosters a better understanding of roles and responsibilities, reduces errors, and promotes teamwork. Employees who receive clear instructions and feedback are more likely to complete tasks efficiently and accurately. Additionally, the study highlights the role of communication in boosting employee morale and motivation, as it creates a transparent and supportive work environment.

However, the research also identifies communication challenges at Njieforbi Bakery, such as language barriers, misinterpretations, and inadequate feedback mechanisms. These issues can lead to misunderstandings, decreased productivity, and frustration among employees. The study suggests that improving communication channels and providing regular training on effective communication techniques can help address these challenges.

In conclusion, communication plays a pivotal role in shaping employees’ performance at Njieforbi Bakery. To enhance productivity and achieve organizational objectives, the bakery should prioritize clear, consistent, and effective communication across all levels of the organization.
