1.0 Introduction and background of the study

 This chapter of the paper presents the Mass media is a major source of information for the majority of Population in most Countries. It can Shape public opinion and ensure Popular support of Particular Politicians and Politics. Such effects can take Place if media omits Some relevant facts or Provide deliberately incomplete information. Biased media can have an effect on peoples behavior even in the situations when the audience knows about potential bias in media reports. Stromberg 2016, Prat 2016, and Gentzkow.

The ability of media to influence behavior by providing information and changing beliefs is more apparent in behavioral models that assume specific deviations from fully rational Bayesian updating that Comes in that form of categorical thinking (Mullainathan, schwarztein 2008). Media is a broad term that refers to various channels of Communication that include Television, radio, newspaper, magazines, social media and internet. These channels have a significant impact on human behavior and attitude, shaping our Perceptions, opinions and values. human behavior refers to the actions and reactions of Individuals or groups in response to various stimuli.

Media has become an integral part of our lives and it is difficult to imagine a world without it. The media Plays a crucial role in shaping our behavior and attitude towards various issues. For instance media can influence our behavior by setting trends and fashion, Promoting Certain values and belief on social, political, and economic issues.

 In the early 1900s, europen religious missions released the first newspaper in what is now Cameroon, including Mulee-Ngea in 1903 (by evangelical missionaries in Buea) Mwendi wa Masango in 1906 (by the baptist an Douala) and Elolombe ya Kamerun in 1908) by Protestant missionaries. 

1.1 Statement of the problem

The media has a significant impact on human behavior towards various issues. One of the main ways media affects human behavior is through the Cultivation theory. According to the theory, the media has a Cumulative effect on human behavior and attitude by exposing them to repeated messages and images. This exposure leads to the cultivation of certain attitudes in individuals who are exposed to those messages over long period.

For example if individuals are exposed to violent Content over a long period, they may develop higher tolerance for violence and may be more engage in aggressive behavior themselves.
