ABSTRACT

This study explores the influence of the school environment on the academic performance of secondary school students in the Buea Municipality, focusing on the multifaceted aspects of the school setting that impact learning outcomes. Given the diverse socio-economic context of Buea, understanding these environmental factors is critical for enhancing educational strategies and student success.

The research employs a mixed-method approach, analyzing both quantitative data on academic performance metrics and qualitative feedback from students, teachers, and administrators. The primary aim is to dissect how physical infrastructure, the psychosocial environment, curriculum and extracurricular activities, and safety and discipline within schools collectively influence academic achievements.
