Abstract
This study investigates the impact of time management on organizational performance at the Buea Council, Cameroon. Time management is a crucial skill that influences an organization’s productivity and efficiency. Proper time allocation allows employees to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and achieve organizational goals. However, poor time management leads to delays, reduced productivity, and organizational underperformance.
The research adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining surveys and interviews with Buea Council employees and managers. It explores how time management practices, such as task prioritization, scheduling, and delegation, affect performance indicators like work output, employee satisfaction, and service delivery. Data analysis focuses on identifying the relationship between effective time management and improved organizational outcomes.
Preliminary findings suggest that good time management practices significantly enhance performance at Buea Council. Employees who prioritize tasks and adhere to schedules show higher productivity. However, factors such as lack of clear guidelines and poor delegation negatively affect time efficiency. The study also highlights the need for regular time management training to improve organizational performance.
The research concludes that time management is essential for achieving organizational success. Recommendations include improving time management practices through training, clearer task delegation, and better scheduling systems. These changes can enhance the overall performance of the Buea Council and contribute to efficient service delivery.
